Good, good. I'll make sure you have a good dinner, then.
[He's cheerful, and though he can't exactly lean into the touch on the motorcycle, Bucky does spend the trip pointing out various spots he thinks Steve would enjoy.]
You say that like it'd ever be a problem.
[Eventually, he slows down, parking a ways off from the actual restaurant, so they can have a chance to chat for a bit, while walking.]
They'll probably get a kick out of seeing you here.
[He tilted his head a bit, looking confused. It wasn't like he hadn't been
out and about some. He'd just spent most of his time in the apartment
T'Challa had given him. He wasn't really sure how to interact.]
I mean...its not like I'm the only white guy here.
[He teased, bumping his shoulder against Bucky's.]
[They get inside all right, but as soon as one of the wait staff notice them, one of them rushes over, looking delighted.]
White Wolf, if we had known you were coming, we would have set up a table for you!
[Bucky's smile is remarkably easy, all things considered.]
That's fine, Yonas. A regular table for two should work for us.
[The table they're lead to mostly likely doesn't resemble anything Steve is used to, but Bucky sits down on one of the benches, motioning for Steve to sit at the other.]
Took some getting used to, but this'll be fun, I promise you.
I know. I'm not a fan of it either, to tell you the truth. It's fine when it's the kids, 'cause usually they're just trying to distract me from my work, and take turns begging me to be on their soccer teams.
[He smiles, motioning at the table, pulling the top of the basket off to show that's it's empty.]
They'll bring a big platter of food on spongy bread and stick it in here. Food here is all about the community; big groups will sit around these, too.
They'll bring a big list of stuff. Thankfully, with all the tribal languages here, English is a lingua franca, so the menu'll be in English. Order whatever you want, they'll probably be delighted when we're both here for a second course.
There's a lotta curries, vegetables, meats too, of course. Eating takes some getting used to, but I'll walk you through it.
The little tables're where you can put your drinks.
Hey you asked me out. I'm letting you handle everything.
[He said it teasingly, reaching over and squeezing his hand, though he
released it not long after that just because he wasn't sure how people here
though. Honestly, he would be surprised if they weren't accepting, but he
would rather not take the chance. Not after the past they came from.]
I don't mind so much. Most of the time people just ask me questions
actually. Even T'Challa and Shuri have asked me about our past. About what
those times were like.
[As soon as Steve's hands slips away, Bucky reaches out to grab it again, catching Steve's wrist. He winks back, pulling it closer, so Bucky can rest Steve's hand on his knee.]
No one's gonna care, Stevie. Most advanced civilization on Earth, you know. Half the Dora Milaje 're married to each other.
[It's not long before another of the wait staff comes by to get drink orders, and to give them menus. The list of food is, frankly, a little overwhelming, but Bucky looks completely confident.]
I'll order us a lot of nice stuff. How much do you think you're gonna want to eat?
How about I get us as much as they can cram onto one of the platters, then?
[So he orders... well. A lot. It's not going to be nearly enough to feed them, but it's enough that the waiter's eyes go big, apparently extremely excited that White Wolf loves the food here.
Once he's left, Bucky laughs quietly.]
Now I know how you felt after you first changed 'n all. Everyone's so star-struck. It's ridiculous.
[That's nearly whispered, even if it's not needed.]
I'll warn you, the hut doesn't have heating. It can get a little cold at night.
[Eventually their banter, flirting-- whatever you call it, has to stop, because the dish of food they're given is absolutely enormous. It looks kind of like a pizza, with everything carefully piled in its own individual section on spongy bread, and four rolls of what look like fancily wrapped napkins, but what Bucky is quick to show is more of the bread.]
You eat it with this.
[He tears off a decent chunk off of one of the rolls of bread, and picks up a large amount of one of the piles of food with it, eating the entire thing in one bite.]
You'd never have seen anything like this back in Brooklyn.
[Steve watched before following along with what Bucky had done. Only he
looked around at all the different sections before carefully using his
fingers to pick a little of this and that to pile on his bread.]
I hope this is acceptable. I really don't want to offend anyone.
[After a moment though he pushed the food into his mouth, taking a smaller
bite, but still getting a mouthful.]
This is delicious.
[It was said around the mouthful and he blushed a bit.]
no subject
Who knows, you show me a good time, you might get lucky tonight, hot shot. ;-)
no subject
You still holed up in that tiny apartment?
no subject
Where else am I gonna go?
no subject
I'd say help me out on the farm, but I feel like neither of us would get any work done.
[That's some shameless flirting right there.]
Cmon, I'm right outside.
[As if to prove his point, he honks his horn, loudly.]
no subject
I almost feel like you're asking me to move in.
[Not that he would ever say no if Bucky was. Even if it meant living in a hut outside the city. He'd give everything up for the other man.]
Can you see me being a goat herder? I'm on my way down.
[Steve laughed before pulling the door shut behind him and heading downstairs. He stepped outside, smiling when he saw Bucky before winking at him.]
Dunno how I would feel about sleeping on the floor though. I'd consider it if you have an actual bed.
[It was teasing of course.]
no subject
[He's smiling when he says it, seeing no reason to even give a playful denial.]
Oh, come on, I don't sleep on the floor. I have blankets and pillows. Plenty of cultures don't use mattresses traditionally.
[But Bucky looks cheerful.]
Maybe I'll show you how comfortable it is in my hut after dinner.
[But he seems to shrug it off after a moment.]
C'mon, if we go now, we'll beat the dinner crowd.
no subject
[He laughed, moving over and before he got on he turned Bucky's head and pressed a kiss to his lips.]
Well, maybe if you'd really ask I might say yes.
[Then he swung onto the bike, arms curling around Bucky's waist as he smirked.]
You go ahead and show me. Can't promise I'll ever leave after that though.
no subject
[He's cheerful, and though he can't exactly lean into the touch on the motorcycle, Bucky does spend the trip pointing out various spots he thinks Steve would enjoy.]
You say that like it'd ever be a problem.
[Eventually, he slows down, parking a ways off from the actual restaurant, so they can have a chance to chat for a bit, while walking.]

no subject
You really think so? Why?
[He tilted his head a bit, looking confused. It wasn't like he hadn't been out and about some. He'd just spent most of his time in the apartment T'Challa had given him. He wasn't really sure how to interact.]
I mean...its not like I'm the only white guy here.
[He teased, bumping his shoulder against Bucky's.]
What do they call you again? White Wolf was it?
no subject
Guess you're not. But it's not like they get many foreigners here, you know.
[And Bucky, in Wakandan clothing, does manage to stand out a little less.]
Yeah. White Wolf. I think it's some kind of pun.
[He holds the door open for Steve, grinning.]
It'll be fun. And then, we can have the evening to ourselves.
no subject
[He gave a nod before taking Bucky's hand and squeezing.]
Can't wait to try this food you told me about. I've mainly been stick to things I recognize, but I'll give anything a try since you seem to like it.
[Once they were inside he noticed a few people glancing at them and staring, obviously curious about the two, even if everyone knew about them.]
no subject
I'll order us some things you'll recognize.
[They get inside all right, but as soon as one of the wait staff notice them, one of them rushes over, looking delighted.]
White Wolf, if we had known you were coming, we would have set up a table for you!

no subject
[He followed, watching the different people for a moment. He smiled and nodded here and there before the staff member came over to speak to them.]
What? No we don't...
[He blushed a bit then, clearing his throat.]
Sorry I was a bit distracted. I wouldn't want special treatment.
[Though he did eye the table, tilting his head a bit as they sat down.]
You're going to show me though, right?
no subject
I know. I'm not a fan of it either, to tell you the truth. It's fine when it's the kids, 'cause usually they're just trying to distract me from my work, and take turns begging me to be on their soccer teams.

no subject
[Its obvious that if left to his own devices, he would overwhelm himself. So he was glad he had told Bucky to take the reins on this one.]
Man...you weren't kidding.
[He said it with a squeeze to his knees, smiling.]
I haven't eaten since this morning and it was a power bar. I'm pretty hungry.
no subject
[So he orders... well. A lot. It's not going to be nearly enough to feed them, but it's enough that the waiter's eyes go big, apparently extremely excited that White Wolf loves the food here.
Once he's left, Bucky laughs quietly.]

no subject
See at least you get it.
[He laughed as well, scooting a little closer and squeezing his thigh gently.]
So, if we eat all of that and end up ordering more...is he gonna make that face again?
[The smile that lit his face was contagious honestly. He was happy to be there with Bucky.]
You know...I really missed you.
no subject
Yeah, probably. I don't think they're quite used to how much I eat. They probably won't know what to think with two of us here.
[At Steve's words, he can't help himself, squeezing his hand.]
I've missed you, too. I like it when you're here, Stevie.
no subject
I like being here. I'm trying to...I want to be here more often. I don't want to leave you anymore.
[He bit his lip for a moment, smiling before leaning over and pecking his lips.]
Maybe...we could work on that together.
no subject
I'd like that.
Want me to show you the inside of my hut after all?
no subject
I mean, if there's a chance I'm gonna be staying there a lot in the near future? Yeah, definitely.
[He smiled, leaning his forehead against Bucky's.]
Though, just remember, once you invite me in I might never leave.
no subject
[That's nearly whispered, even if it's not needed.]
